OUR STORY

Fitness Marketing Alliance is an amalgam of two different, but similar, stories. FMA’s Founders, Doug Holt and Eric Malzone, have a collective 30+ years in the fitness industry, 25+ years in marketing and sales, and 15+ years in gym facility ownership.

Our combined experiences provide a unique set of qualifications that laid a solid foundation for what is now the Fitness Marketing Alliance. Our mission is simple: We assist the gym owner and/or fitness professional in reaching their ideal day by taking the time and mystery out of marketing. 

Doug Holt

Doug’s journey includes just about every field the fitness industry has to offer from gyms and certification companies to privately coaching celebrities and doing corporate consulting.

Along his journey, he has accumulated over 18 degrees and certifications in the health and fitness field. Moreover, he’s worked with 1,000’s of people, helping them better their lives. His passion for fitness is equaled only by his passion for helping business owners grow. Doug is a serial entrepreneur and one of this other companies, Branded Innovation, brings the deep marketing experience which is the engine that runs FMA.

Eric Malzone

Eric’s professional experience stems from a decade in various sales and marketing roles that led him to opening a CrossFit (TM) affiliate in 2009, Gravitas Fitness. After 8+ years of gym ownership and a deep analysis of his own “ideal day,” Eric decided to sell his gym and go full throttle into FMA.

The success that he saw during his days as a gym owner, can now be leveraged to help thousands of gym owners worldwide.

The most important thing to mention here is that we get it. We have been in the fitness professionals shoes and know exactly how the ups and downs can feel. We’re not just “marketing guys.” We are people who authentically empathize and harbor a deep passion to help those that help others.
